About the Instructor

Tonya Bludsworth, Freelance Casting Director at Corrigan & Johnston  

Tonya Bludsworth has been in the Entertainment Industry for almost 20 years. Directing credits include Miss Firecracker Contest, Least Likely Friends, Bad Jews, The Importance of Being Earnest and most recently The Taming for donna scott productions where she is also a producing partner. As a writer, she has received local acclaim for her plays Carrie Ann’s Kiss and Least Likely Friends.  She is a working actor and her TV and film acting credits include Shots Fired, Secrets & Lies, Homeland, Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva, The Taking of Deborah Logan and We’re The Millers along with TV commercial and VO work. She has been a free-lance casting director at Corrigan & Johnston Casting for almost 15 years.

This class is strongly recommended for parents! It’s a new exciting electronic age of submitting your auditions electronically and digitally  – find out how it all works from the Casting Director’s point of view. This workshop will focus on how Casting Directors request electronic submissions, what they require for this electronic submissions, and how they review, cull, and present these auditions to the director of the project. Actor sites, demo reels, actor slates and the power of the Head Shot and resume will also be discussed. This is not a technical class, but a class on how the technology works (or doesn’t work) for YOU, the actor.  You will receive behind the scenes knowledge of how to present yourself in the strongest light to the Casting Director.
