Backwards Broadway

This benefit performance is hosted by the NWSA Thespian Society, with all proceeds from the event going to support Broadway Cares! Thespian Society members perform in this hilarious production where the Backwards comes from the actors swapping gender roles of popular Broadway songs.

Parents & Guardians:  TAG invite you to a reception for all theatre families — both new families to NWSA and returning families — interested in getting more involved!. The welcoming reception will begin at 6:00 immediately before the Backward Broadway Show.  Please join us for refreshments and conversation while finding out more about TAG!

12 Hour Play Festival

Come enjoy amazing student work!  Student writers have only 12 hours to write their plays, then student directors have 12 hours to cast, rehearse and perform their shows.

Join us as our High School students present these dramatic and comedic stories.

Medea is a tragedy written by the ancient Greek playwright Euripides, based on the myth of Jason and Medea, and particularly Medea’s revenge against Jason for betraying her with another woman.

David Ives’ All in the Timing features six diverse but equally hysterical one-act comedies.  You will enjoy a witty, romantic, absurd, and existentially-minded evening of theatre.

Poetry Café Friday, November 17th at 7 pm in the Charles LaBorde Theatre Tickets: $5 Students / $5 Adults Come to the Poetry Cafe for an inspiring evening of NWSA’s Spoken Word Poets. Grab a cup of hot java and enjoy our talented poets as they share their thoughts, feelings and beliefs through the art of spoken word or “Slam” poetry. Students usually write about social injustices, some other more personal “triggering” issues, and life as they have experienced.  See you at the Café!

James and the Giant Peach

Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach is a brand new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale.  When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
